The San Francisco Presentation community consists of 62 vowed members and 30 associates. Our primary mission is to the poor, which we manifest through a variety of ministries as fulfilled by our foundress Nano Nagle. Presentation women are committed to serving the poor in ministries of education, community outreach, pastoral care in hospitals and care centers, parish ministry, literacy programs, caregiving, foreign missions, immigration work, spiritual direction, prayer, social services, volunteer services and leadership. Presentation Sisters currently serve in the Archdioceses of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., and the Dioceses of Oakland, San Jose, Monterey, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Guatemala. We live in small group residences, apartments, parish convents, and our Motherhouse, which provides special care for our elderly and infirm sisters.
You can learn more about the individual Sisters by reading Presentation Women a Legacy of Vision, Faith, and Service. Three Sisters of the Presentation celebrated jubilees to mark significant milestones in their lives as women religious at a community celebration on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Presentation Motherhouse in San Francisco. Sister Giovanna Campanella, PBVM, Sister Antoinette Martinez, PBVM and Sister Gemma Wilson, PBVM are celebrating sixty (60) years in the congregation. While not partaking in any public celebrations, but marking her Seventieth (70th) Jubilee is Sister Mary Ruth Patrick, PBVM.
2018 Earth Day Celebration
Celebrate Earth, our common home! It has been tradition in our community for the past twenty years to observe Earth Day. This year the Earth Day Committee prepared a prayer/ritual that was sent to all Sisters and Presentation Associates. On April 21st, the Sisters at the Motherhouse gathered in the dining room and were seated at their tables before the meal was served, each with a copy of the Earth Day prayer. Sharing the prayer of our Earth together helped raise awareness of God's creation and our responsibility to care for it.
