It’s CatholicSistersWeek 2022! Celebrate with us March 8-14 as we highlight ministries and members of the Presentation Sisters, San Francisco! #ChangingTheWorld #CelebratingTraditions

Day 1: We kick off #CatholicSistersWeek with this radio interview with Sister Rita Jovick. She speaks to how she came to religious life and what the 65 years of service and community have been like. Sister Rita truly exemplifies “Not Words, but Deeds.” Listen here

Day 2: San Francisco Presentation Sisters have taught across the west since 1856. #CatholicSistersWeek gives us the chance to highlight a shining example of our Sisters’ ministry in education: Presentation High School in San Jose. At Presentation High, each student is “challenged to become a woman of faith, dedicated to working with others, intellectually competent and committed to her personal growth.” We are so proud of our teachers, students, staff, and alumni! #NotWordsButDeeds #ChangingTheWorld #CelebratingTraditions

Day 3: This #CatholicSistersWeek coincides with a momentous ecclesial event in the life of our congregation. For three days beginning today, we will gather to decide, with God’s help, the direction and agenda for the next few years and elect the next President and Council of the congregation. Please hold us in prayer. #ChangingTheWorld #CelebratingTraditions

Day 4:  Ministry to those made poor is a focus of the work of our congregation. A highlight each year is joining with the various religious congregations in San Francisco, coordinated by the Archdiocesan Director of Consecrated Life, Sister Rosina Conrotto, PBVM, to provide a BBQ lunch event to those who are unhoused. We were overjoyed to return to this in-person event this year. Guests are provided a meal, conversation, and needed items such as clothing and toiletries. Please join us in praying for these individuals and for solutions to the housing challenges in San Francisco. #CatholicSistersWeek #ChangingTheWorld #CelebratingTraditions

Day 5: #CatholicSistersWeek highlight: A long-standing ministry for our Sisters and partners is preparing meals for day labor workers in San Francisco. Many Sisters prepare healthful bag lunches, which are delivered to regular gathering spots by a few Sisters and partners from a local parish. Along with the food for physical nourishment, many prayers for safety and well-being are delivered with those bags. #ChangingTheWorld #CelebratingTraditions 📷: Andrea Hetley, PBVMSF Archivist
