Sisters at Habitat for Humanity

L-R Sister Maire Sullivan, Sister Sylvia Llerena, Sister Virginia Espinal

The May 21, 2022 Interfaith Build Day for Habitat for Humanity San Francisco happened with the support of Sisters Maire, Sylvia, and Virginia E. Building eight new affordable homes in Diamond Heights is an amazing interfaith effort! These Sisters and the work of the Presentation Sisters congregation are highlighted in Habitat’s most recent volunteer newsletter:

Volunteer Spotlight

From Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco summer volunteer newsletter

“Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco volunteers do more than just help at the construction site and community gardens. Oftentimes, they are our biggest advocates, who happily lend a hand to provide a sense of hospitality and compassion that uplifts those around them while at our sites. This is exemplified by Sisters Virginia, Sylvia, and Marie of the Sisters of Presentation who supported our check-in efforts at this year’s All Faiths Build.

The Sisters of Presentation take organizing efforts to a new level and help not only Habitat GSF in our mission to provide more affordable homeownership opportunities to the region, they also work for justice and structural change on other issues related to women, children, immigrants, the environment and human rights. We’re grateful to have the support from this incredible organization and hope you get to see them at one of our future affinity build events.

Thank you, Sisters Virgina, Sylvia and Marie!”
