Sister Marilyn Medau has lived in Oakland since the 1970s, engaged in parish work, justice and peace efforts, and serving seniors and preschoolers at St. Mary’s Center where she is currently a board member and volunteer. Three times a month she joins others on Ceasefire walks to witness to the need for violence reduction in Oakland, especially gun violence. In her words, “There’s just so much education that has to happen around guns in our country.
