Memories of Guatemala, A Place One Needs to See to Know by Sister Ellen Cafferty, PBVM, was published in the December issue of the Global Sisters Report, an independent, non-profit source of news and information about Catholic sisters and the critical issues facing the people they serve.  In the article, Sister Ellen reflects on her 28 year ministry in the parish of Jesus Nipalakin, just north of Guatemala City, sharing memories from her time there and providing critical information about the actual conditions in the country and current issues facing immigrants. Sister Ellen has long been an advocate for the people of Guatemala and other Central American countries, and has given several talks on the subject including an address before the 13th Conference of United Nations’ Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.  Click here to read the article
